Company Pays $500,000 Criminal Fine Over Hydrogen Sulfide Death

A food industry company has reportedly paid a $500,000 criminal fine over the death of a worker after exposure to hydrogen sulfide.  The CEO also quit.


"Federal laws require employers to undertake steps that limit exposure to dangerous substances....The Justice Department takes its enforcement responsibility seriously, and companies that ignore these laws and risk their employees' lives will be prosecuted."
